Avant
Kingman participated in a graffiti gang in 1982 and 1983 known collectively as Avant. The gang distinguished itself from other graffiti artists by having each artist create painting on paper in his own studio and signing with the moniker Avant. The artists met periodically to wheat paste their paintings on the streets.
Are You Coming Honey?
All these AVANT posters were spared disintegration by the Penn Station Sniper who shot me through the chest June 29th, 1983. Had I not been shot, they would have been wheat pasted to the walls of SOHO and the East Village.
Shower me with Love
One of the paintings left over from The Love Show at Club 57 run by Ann Magnuson at 57 St. Marks Place on the Lower East Side. Ann and I partnered on a number of shows including The Artists' & Models' Ball I produced for Chelsea Art Week 1980.
Letter to Basquiat
I met Basquiat on a number of occasions. I wrote him a couple of letters. This is one: "Really, I wonder what makes your aesthetic better than mine, why you act superior, when soon we will lie together forever?"

Danceteria
After Danceteria was closed by the publicity brought to it by the The Artists' and Models' Ball, it re-opened at 30 W. 21st St.
